A BRIEF OVERVIEW . a little note about the hunger games and how i interact with the fandom for my own sanity. i am appalachian. born and raised and all that jazz. district 12 means a Lot to me as a kid from a factory town who never saw her culture positively represented in media. i will not stand for any classist takes on the d12 characters. should also mention that i wont stand for any ableist rhetoric to be spread about annie and her mental health.. MUN AND PREFERENCES . i am 24, but don't jump into smut without LOTS of planning. i've been writing annie for 12 years, and almost 8 of those have been on tumblr. my portrayal of her is pretty set in stone at this point. one major thing i will not budge on is that my annie is latina. with tagging, i'm happy to tag anything you need on top of all the typical ones. minors, i'm sure your blog is fantastic, but please do not follow me.. born with a silver spoon in her mouth, annie cresta enjoys the luxuries that a merchant’s life brings in one of panem’s most prosperous districts while still having the values of a district life instilled firmly. her clothes were often bought from the mail-order capitol catalogs, but each piece would be several sizes too big, taken in, and let out to fit several years. friends surround her, the popular and flirtatious gem of high society. throughout this, she trains for the games. top of her class. no one volunteers for the 18-year-old when her life is turned upside down.

inside lumon, annie's innie works in microdata refinement. it's certainly not a bad gig, at least most of the time. she's worked at lumon for three quarters by the events of season one, and while not a stellar employee, generally doesn't fall too far behind, either. she is polite and professional, not afraid to share a laugh. her outie struggles with the mundanity of life, but severance seems to solve all of her issues. with the free mental energy of no longer taking work home with her, she can focus on getting through her day.

PARADE at the tribute parade, annie is dressed to dazzle. her long, dark hair is plastered to her chest as a show of modesty, though her stylist, maio match, seems to make no other pushes in that direction, clothing her in a pale glittering foam that covers only what's necessary for television. her fate seems sealed, who doesn't love a pretty young thing?JULY 6-8 - TRAINING no holds barred for her training performances. someone so strong and capable, if small, had no worries of being kicked out of the career pack. it was always useful to have someone there who could run like the wind without ever tiring. she fits in without a hitch, growing close with braon in the process and nurturing a budding friendship. in her individual assessments, she showcases an affinity for knot-tying and knife skills, along with her speed. more than one station leader offers the advice to find higher ground. not odd in isolation, curious in number.JULY 9-10 - INTERVIEW annie scores a 9. her interview preparation lands on the tone sexy, confident, and a bit charming. three things she can do well. raised around the upper class and capitol population of four, she knows how to woo the audience. with caesar's help, she is one of the standouts of the night.JULY 11 - GAMES DAY 1 the games start with a bang. literally. the girl from 5 steps off her platform just a second too soon, blowing her to bits. before her body hits the ground, the gong sounds, and annie rushes the cornucopia. she and her allies hold their own with no major casualties and make camp in the golden horn. it sits in a wide meadow, what must have once been a park, surrounded by city blocks, all encased by massive dams at the arena's edge. they must be empty of people, given where they are, but the bright neon lights come on at night without fail.JULY 13 - GAMES DAY 3 annie's first kill is a boy named beau gant, from district ten. they'd shared a joke in training, but out here, he rushed from a building at her. the careers had split up to search for fresh water, she would remind them that was not a good idea. he wants to live, but she wants to a little bit more. she doesn't feel bad, at least it was quick. her glasses are irreparably shattered.JULY 18 - GAMES DAY 8 the sun shines bright in her eyes when she wakes to the jolt of her head pulled back in a headlock, mouth filled with a cotton gag. when her eyes focus well enough to see the scene in front of her, braon's head is removed in one quick slash. as she fights to get free, her allies laugh, playing with her fear. his blood is smeared across her face, taunts chanted at her, promises to win big in their memory. an adrenaline strike breaks her free from the large girl that held her, two's juno afra, and annie strikes without abandon, nails going straight for her face. annie doesn't stick around long enough to hear the canon, just long enough to see her eyes dangle from their sockets when she pulled back. she runs for the city, praying that the shock's effect on the group would provide her the extra second that would save her life.JULY 19-22 - GAMES DAYS 9-12 each building has its perks. whether it is tall, has serpentine hallways, minimal windows, or door locks, there is potential in each. on her first night in hiding, too close to an exterior wall for comfort, she can only just barely hear the heavy footfalls on the streets. couldn't be human. deep growls and sniffs affirm her worries. enough to let her know not to wander the roads at night. when one night brings the sound of no footfall, human or otherwise, she doesn't move an inch more unless necessary, retreating into herself, whispering old chants and songs to herself through tears as she waits for the career pack to finally find her.JULY 22 - GAMES DAY 12 she turns 19 and wonders if this is the first time this has ever happened. some birthday, being holed up in the darkest corner of a building, dreading the sound of footsteps. food doesn't come regularly, it would be too easy to miss in its parachutes, and too easy for someone to know that a tribute was inside. today, though, a cupcake. she lets herself cry at the little pink thing, sweet enough to make her stomach hurt.JULY 24 - GAMES DAY 14 late in the evening, the ground begins to rumble. though all rational thought says to stay put, instinct takes over, bringing her to the top of the building. far in the distance, water rushes in from a dam breach to the north. the debris makes the water grow angry, violent. years of life at the shore have prepared her for a usable reaction when it hits her. she survives the initial hours. at least two others do not.JULY 25 - GAMES DAY 15 over the next day, her energy is saved solely for treading water and floating once the world calms down. beneath her, she can still see the glowing signs, signaling the bottom of the water's domain. a meager count tells her only one person remains, and she must find him before she gives out from weakness. kell lockhem, thirteen years old, district twelve. when she finds his body draped over a massive tree branch, she knows what to do. she dives beneath the water behind him, swimming over and yanking the boy down by his ankle. he kicks, she assumes he screams, but he is just too tired to fight. when he begins to sink, her hand breached the surface, followed by her face. the anthem plays.JULY 26 - POST GAMES DAY 1 extensive remakes allow her body to look like new again. or rather, better than new, as maio says. her rope-calloused hands have been softened, eyesight corrected, ears pierced and healed. she does not speak, only clawing at the doctors who reach for her until she is sedated again.JULY 27-28 - POST GAMES QUESTIONING coherent enough to answer questions, she wakes in an unfamiliar concrete room. the peacekeepers wear masks, as if in combat, standing guard at the door while a fat man with a very official air about him stands over her. her wrists and ankles ache from the days of being bound, forehead covered by a series of small electrodes. he barks repeated questions at her that seem to have no right answer. the truth gets her shocked, but lies have the same effect. the fear overpowers all working memory. something about knowing what to look for? all she remembers is the pain and drought that came after she ran out of tears. she was still starving, mouth dry and cracked with want. whatever they wanted, she can't determine, though she is quite sure this all far larger than she had any desire to know. this time is blurry, a mere mention brings back more automatic fear than any rational thought.JULY 30 - POST GAMES INTERVIEW caesar flickerman seems excited to see the new victor, he always does. however, his resolve seems to falter over the three hour highlight reel, in which annie says not a single word, only hugging herself and staring off into the distance. a cocktail of sedatives and her sore muscles are to blame, but no one seems to care. when she is directed to stand by the president for her crowning, she almost behaves. but as his hands brush her hair in placing the circlet, her live wire nerves kick in and she collapses to the floor, screaming.JULY 31 - HOME finally, she is returned to her parents, who hardly recognize the shell of their daughter. for reasons they would quite like to keep to themselves, annie lives alone in her victors' village home within the month.
